New Town Theatre: Your Friendly Neighbourhood Theatre Company!

Hello! We are New Town Theatre, and we are so excited to finally be able to introduce ourselves to you.

New Town Theatre has been a dream in the making for co-artistic directors, Terry and Thomas, for around 4 years now when they met one fateful day at the Towngate Theatre in Basildon. Having both grown up in Basildon, they knew they wanted to bring something new and exciting to the town, and have it be something that the local creative community built together.

Having run under different names and guises, you may have seen our productions of Agatha Christie's Murder in the Studio, our own production CONNECTIONS at the Towngate Theatre, or may have stumbled into the world of our site piece Owl and the Pussycat in the Eastgate Centre on your travels - yep, that was us!

Now, four years on, and with a company of writers, actors, singers, and theatre enthusiasts by their side, New Town Theatre has finally taken form, and we are so glad that it has. You can find out some of the things we are currently working on in our Projects section on our website.

We can't wait to show you what we have been planning, and to really get back out into the community and do what we love most, bringing your stories to life.

Until then, we will see you soon!

Thomas and Terry
